Diana Vreeland quotesI have always been inspired visually by Diana Vreeland who was the Fashion editor at Harper's Bazaar, the editor at Vogue, and a special consultant at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She had a "take no prisoners" attitude towards her work and life. She was tough, and unapologetic. A documentary using her own personal memoirs and interviews is currently available for viewing on Netflix streaming. I highly recommend viewing this charming character of a woman as she recaps her life. The documentary is called "Diana Vreelend, The Eye Has to Travel". http://www.dianavreeland-film.com I've put together a small collection of quotes from her using images that I've shot this month to share with you. For more about her work please visit her site here: http://www.dianavreeland.com

Minnehaha FallsMinnehaha Falls is one of my favorite places to take photos throughout the year. It's great in the winter, the falls freeze and form a magnificent blue ice cave. In the summer it's just gorgeous from any perspective. Now is the time to start thinking about more creative locations for your graduation photos. You'll have these images for the rest of your life to commemorate entering adulthood, why have the same image that your classmates have? I'm booking for the summer now, creating unique heirloom quality images. If you book prior to the 20th of May I'm offering a 25% discount off of your session fee, and as always you do not have to purchase additional prints and your images are delivered to you within 72 hours of your session day in jpg format. Contact me with any additional questions, and if you're looking to achieve a specific image please let me know! I love to try new things in new places. Today is suicide awareness day and I have a daughter in middle school so I may just be dealing with bullying a lot. Or at least I'm aware of bullying on a whole new level. When I picked up my daughter from school today I asked her how she felt about the subject and what she would share with others about acceptance. She thought about it for awhile and came up with this little sign pictured. While I understand making a sign won't stop bullying, talking about it might. I've spoken with my daughter on several occasions about why people bully and why it's wrong and how not talking about it can be deadly. Suicide is never the answer. If you're being bullied tell someone. If you don't have a resource to ask for help please call 1.800.RUNAWAY. Bullying can be stopped, it hurts everyone involved. Don't accept the behavior, there is help. The Studio was featured in the Sunday Edition of the StarTribune during the Spring Saint Paul Art Crawl two weekends ago. If you were unable to make it out to one of the live photo shoots to view what a working studio is like and see featured work by
Matt Smith the 11th Doctor WHOA! Chloe and I got to meet the Doctor, Matt Smith. You can tell by the look on my face how excited I was. Chloe is always much more controlled in her emotion than I am. I chronically embarrass her. Which is what I think I'm supposed to do as a mother, it builds character. We had a great day and saw some silly stuff which was perfect because it was Sunday! It was nice to meet some of you, the Cosplay was awesome!
